Johnny Jump Ups

You can wow your friends with a salad garnished with tiny purple and yellow flowers.    These are gorgeous little plants.   Johnny Jump Ups seed down yearly so they tend to pop up in other inconspicuous locations.    They are a delight to see and if you get hungry while gardening you can pick a few off and have a snack.   They can also be used to decorate cakes.  Gourmet Chiefs will sugar the flowers to keep the blooms looking beautiful and add to fancy dishes as an attractive garnish.

Johnny Jump Ups are from the Viola family, they resemble miniature pansies .   They can be considered a wild flower and are low lying, they are usually three to six inches clumps.   They are adaptable to most soils, they grow best in partial shade, full sun may be too hot.
