Flower of the Week – Clematis

The Clematis is a climbing vine.   It comes in many colours and grows along trellises.    So this also means it hides an eye sore.   For example the purple flowered vine is climbing a trellis hiding our electric meter.     I have the double pink Josephine growing in two different places.   One is hiding our drilled well and the other is only used for ornamental purposes and the trellis is spectacular.   Best place to grow clematis is full sun, which means they need six or more hours of sunlight a day.   I only use perennial clematis however you can also get an annual variety.    I did try one a few years ago but it was not successful.

So if you have the perfect spot try this plant.   It comes back yearly.   As the years go by this plant becomes stronger and fuller.  Enjoy.
